Child Prodigies

My kids are so smart! It is the most amazing part of being a parent. This morning Henry went pee-pee on the potty! Yay! What a brilliant child! It is amazing how excited I can get by bodily functions...you would not believe how much clapping, cheering and high-fiving went with this momentous occasion!

Jackie has started Pre-K and he is learning so much. He has been amazing me with what he has been bringing home from school. Within a couple of weeks at school he is able to write his entire name. Not only that, but he can write it with a capital J and lowercase a-c-k-i-e. I'm telling you, the kid is a genius! He takes after me, of course...

Charlie is also incredible! He called me on my cell this afternoon as he was riding in the car with my parents on the way to their current residence in Virginia. He called to let me know that he had finished reading his brand-new Captain Underpants book. Now for those of you who are (blissfully) unaware about the Captain, they are short chapter books about 2 badly behaved boys who turn their mean principal into "superhero" by the name of Capt.Underpants. As you can guess, his outfit consists of tighty-whiteys and a cape. Classic. However, it is not the content that makes him a genius, right?!? The important thing is that my baby is reading a chapter book. Impressive stuff. And on the topic of Charlie's genius, he is also quite gifted with the Legos...don't know how that will relate into hif future, but not only is he very good at following the directions and building the sets, he is incredible with his imagination, coming up with new and interesting things to build. This is a picture of him with theLego robot man he made out of Henry's Duplos. Impressive, huh?!? I thought so.
